Create your mobile eCommerce app and conquer the world
We started adding eCommerce features in TapPublisher 2.0, but we really improved them in 2.2.
But what can I do with TapPublisher exactly?
With TapPublisher, you'll be able to integrate a product catalog, a shopping basket and a secure payment system into your app. We also added features such user account, order history, promo codes, loyalty card and of course push notifications.
How do I manage my store and my orders?
As you can imagine, you need an app to manage your product catalog and of course your customer orders. For this, we developed an iPad app named Commerce . Commerce is not publicly available on the AppStore, but just ask us and we'll give you access to download it.
I like Deliveroo but it's too expensive and I don't know my customers
As you can see, TapPublisher is the perfect tool for developing apps for order taking and delivery for restaurants, snacks and food trucks. And all this for only $49 per month and 0% commission fees .
BTW, you can manage multiple physical stores and sales points This is ideal if you are located in multiple cities or want to develop a franchise network.

Here are two apps that we realized for customers in Paris. I invite you to download and discover the possibilities TapPublisher. they're french apps, but I'm pretty confident you'll understand how they're working.
]]> TapPublisher 2.2 is now available for download with tons of new features and improvements, more specifically in modules related to eCommerce.
To release this new version, we have reviewed and improved many points. We have heard many feedbacks to offer you the best possible experience and allow you to create beautiful mobile apps.
First, we thought to include an user manual. It will appear automatically when you launch TapPublisher for the first time, but you can also find in the Window -> Open user manual menu. This is a first version that will be enriched with time.
In the project window, you will also notice the presence of a new AppStore icon. We have grouped all the forms to complete infos and screenshots related to publication on the AppStore.

]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FPublish%2Ban%2Bapp%2Bwith%2Byour%2BiTunesConnect%2Baccount%2F812015-11-29T22:30:32+01:00 That's it, your app is finished and you want to submit it on the AppStore. You do not want to go through our publication service, but rather the issue with your account iTunesConnect. No worries, it's entirely possible and we can deliver a file IPA that you send to Apple. Here is the procedure to be followed and the elements to provide.
Warning, this procedure requires that you have an Apple Developer account and assumes that you have the technical knowledge to carry out the various necessary operations. We have also written guides to generate a distribution certificate and provisioning profile to guide you in this process.
First, you must send your application developed TapPublisher. Nothing more simple, run the software on your Mac and click on the Publish. All data related to your app will be uploaded to our cloud and demand for publication will be activated.
For us to compile an application with your iTunesConnect account, you'll have to send us, through our support, identify your app as well as two files: a Provisioning Profile and a distribution certificate. This information will enable us to compile an application with your identity that you can then submit to Apple.
The app identifier is in the form com.mycompany.myapp and must have been created on your Apple developer account .
Distribution Certificate
The distribution certificate is the file that will allow us to sign your application with your identity. Launch application Keychain Access on your Mac. You will find this certificate in the left column, bottom, in the category Certificates . His name is in the form iPhone Distribution: your name (xxxxxx) . Select it and click the triangle to "open". You will see that it is associated with a user (probably you). You must export these 2 information. To do this, nothing more simple, select the 2 lines (+ identity certificate), right click on your mouse and click Export 2 items. The backup switch will open and offer to save a file as Certificat.p12 . The application will offer you to encrypt the file with a password. This is not mandatory, but if you do, you must not forget to provide us.
Provisioning Profile
For Provisioning Profile, everything is much simpler since once created in the web interface developer.apple.com, you can directly download it. However, this provisioning must have a very specific name for that we can use with our build system. If the identification of your app is com.masociete.monapp , for example, you need to create a profile with the name com_mycompany_myapp_AppStore . Beware, if you create a provisioning profile with a different name and you rename the file in the Finder, it will not work and it will create a new one.
Void so the two files that you should have generated and you must send us.
And that's all. With this information, we can compile, sign your app and send it as a .ipa file. You can then submit on the AppStore via iTunesConnect interface. After some time (between 5 and 15 days depending on the time of year), a person of Apple's validation team will check your app to ensure it does not violate any rules made by Apple. If you used TapPublisher followed our advice and in 99.99% your app will be validated quickly and available on the AppStore.
And now it's up to you to create a wonderful app.]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FPublish%2Ban%2Bapp%2Bwith%2BTapPublisher%2F802015-11-29T17:07:05+01:00 That's it, your app is finished and you want to publish and distribute it. On iOS, there is only one solution, go through the AppStore. But before your app is available, you still have two important steps to proceed:
1 - generate an executable and distributable app
2 - provide all necessary informations to the AppStore (description, screenshots, contact infos, etc...)
To publish an app, TapPublisher offers two possibilities, either you distribute yourself via your Apple Developer account, or you go through our publication service.
If you choose to go through your account, we recommend you read our guide Publish an app with your iTunesConnect account in order to know the procedure to provide you an IPA file that you can send to Apple.
If you prefer things simple and use our service, this is done very simply and without additional cost.
In the case, the beginning of the procedure is identical. Similarly you have uploaded your app via the Test on device, you'll do a similar operation with the Publish button, with a few small differences.
First, TapPublisher will check that your app contains all the necessary elements (icon, splash screens) and all your modules are configured correctly. If one element is missing, the process will be blocked.
Then, after the login screen, the same as the test phase, you will be prompted to enter some informations about your application, through three different forms. This informations will be communicated to Apple and will be used to create your product on the AppStore.
First Step: general informations about your app . This is the name, version number, categories in which your app will be ranked on the AppStore and the minimum age for use. This information is comprehensive in all languages. Do not forget to click on the Update to confirm your change in a language, or your changes will not be taken into account.
The second step is somewhat longer but it is the most important Version infos. This is where you define the name of the localized application, description, what's new in this version, as well as keywords to serve the search engine of the AppStore. This information is localized, that is to say that you can have in as many languages as you like. You can simply add new via the Menu Language and delete with the Delete . Do not forget to click on the Update to confirm your change in a language, or your changes will not be taken into account.
Last step: screenshots . You must provide at least one screenshot per device type (iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6plus). Obviously, it is strongly advisable to provide several screenshots to show potential users looks like your app and how it works. If you don't have all of these devices, just provide us screenshots for one device and we will do the other ones.
If you want, you can also use services like LaunchKit to generate beautiful images that "depict" your app.
All this informations are very important and you must spend time to provide them since they'll be visible part of your app on the AppStore. As you know, there are over 1.5 Million apps on the AppStore and you have them want a user to download your app. You must therefore provide interesting and relevant information as well as screenshots that make you want to try it.
After validating these screens, TapPublisher will send the various files needed to compile your app (icons, splash screens, images, configuration files) on our cloud servers (as in Test Procedure).
If you have entered all the informations requested and that your app is well configured, you should quickly see it available for download from the AppStore. Generally, it take between 8 and 15 days to validate an app. Do not worry, we'll keep you informed during the validation steps. If something is missing or we see an error, we will contact you.
Final note. Remember to test your app with TapPlayer before sending it for publication and to provide all necessary informations. If you have forgotten something, Apple will refuse your app and it will start the process and wait again.]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FCreate%2Byour%2Bfirst%2Bapp%2Bwith%2BTapPublisher%2F792015-11-29T16:21:34+01:00 Here is a tutorial that goes to explain how create your first app for iPhone using TapPublisher step by step. Before you start, we advise you to read our guide Introducing TapPublisher , an overview that help you to understand the general principles of TapPublisher .
1 - Pick a template
When you run TapPublisher for the first time or you create a new app, a window will open prompting you to choose a template app. An app template is a preconfigured app with a number of selected modules.
In this example, we will pick the template "My Blog App". By default, this template contains a RSS news, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Share & Rate modules.
2 - Select a main menu
As you can see, the first module of the app is the menu module. For obvious reasons, it is unique and can not be deleted. This module offers a choice of 5 different types of menus (TabBar, List, Buttons, SideBar standard or glossy effect). Each type has its menu parameter setting according to its specificities. In the case of the button menu, you can add a wallpaper image or a background color, modify the margin size of the menu or buttons, set a background image for each button, etc ... I will lets explore all these options.
3 - Configure a module
As for the menu, each module is configurable. Before turning to the specific part of each module, we will look at the first section of the setup inspector. In our example, we selected the module News RSS.
You can see an icon and a title. This icon is the icon that you will find in each menu and represents each feature. By default, TapPublisher associates a particular icon to each module but of course you can change it. To do this, simply drag and drop an image on the site of the old icon in the inspector. This new icon will automatically replace the old one. Images must be in PNG format with a size of 2356 x 256 pixels. If you are looking icons to customize your app, you should visit FlatIcon which offers numerous, paid or free.
Now to the specific part of the module. As you can see, it consists of three sections:
- The URL of your RSS feed. It was she who used to supply the information of your module
- Layout: you can choose from four types of layout that will display the information in different ways
- The header: you can choose whether to add a header (a header) to your layout.
As you can see in the preview on the right side of your window you can see in real time the changes you make to your app.
With some modules, the News module, you can see in the rendering of the iPhone, many "points". These points correspond to subpages of the module. And as for each module, this page is also configurable. In the case of the News module, it is the display page of an item and you can change the background color and header and body text of the article.
Each module is different, the setup will be different inspector. However, for each module you will find a section that allows you to enter information specific to a service such as a day, a URL, or a login and password, and a section for customizing the interface and layout.
4 - Add a new module
To add a module, simply click on the last item in the list of modules named "Add Module". You will see a window appear with a list of all modules available in TapPublisher. Select the one that interests you and click on the Add button. It will be automatically added to the list of modules already present.
You can add as many modules as you like for your app, but stay reasonable.
7 - And that's it
That is, your first app is now ready and you can test it on your iPhone thanks to TapPlayer.
]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FIntroducing%2BTapPublisher%2F782015-11-29T11:11:34+01:00 Publisher is a tool to create mobile apps. It runs on Mac OS X and allows you to create apps for iPhone and iPad without technical knowledge or writing code.
Its user interface was designed to be simple and easy to use. You can add a new module (eg WordPress, YouTube, Twitter or Contact) in one click, configure it with your settings, choose the layout, colors and graphics. With TapPublisher, you can see on your Mac, an high fidelity graphic preview of the result.
You can also test at any time your app live on your iPhone or iPad using TapPlayer, our companion app.
Once your app is finished and you are satisfied, you can publish it on the AppStore with your iTunesConnect account or using our publish service.
Let us now see in detail the TapPublisher Interface.
As you can see the interface is composed of three distinct parts.
On the left part, you find the list of modules in your app, with its icon and title. The first module in the list is the main menu of your app. You can add as many modules as you like and of course remove those that do not interest you any more. You can also change the order of modules with a simple Drag & Drop.
In the center part, whatever the selected model you will find its configuration inspector. This is where you enter the different settings for each module. Depending on the modules, you can also choose the layout. For example, if you have chosen the RSS module that displays the news of your blog, you can choose between several types of list view.
In the case of Menu module, you can choose between 5 different types of menu (TabBar, List, Buttons, SideBar standard or frozen effect).
On the right part, you find a preview of your app. For each module, you see a rendering of the final result of what you will get on your iPhone or iPad. Don"t panic, this is not an iPhone simulator, it is just a graphic rendering, there is no possible interactions. Using this preview, you can test different layouts, different colors, different icons in a very simple way.
Now, let see what's in the window toolbar and more specifically to the Publish and Test on device .
As the button's name suggests, Test on device , this feature allows you to test your app on your iPhone. For this you need to download TapPlayer on your iPhone. You can find it here on the AppStore.
By clicking on the Test on device button, you'll see an interface asking you a Login and a Password . These settings must match your account at our website.
If you still didn't create an account, you can do it at this at this address . This account is very important because it allows you to test your app on TapPlayer and manage published apps on the AppStore.
Once you are authenticated, TapPublisher will send your project (configuration files, icons, images, etc) on our cloud service. Once the upload is completed, you will be able to test your newly created app (or update) on your iPhone.
TapPlayer configuration is done using the same account credentials. You will then appear listing your apps. To refresh this list, simply perform a "Pull to refresh". To test an app, you must first download it. TapPlayer informs you if an app is updated or if there is a newer version on our cloud service and if you can launch it. Just tap Open to launch your app and magically, the app that you just created on your Mac with a few clicks, runs on your iPhone.
Quick tip: if you want to quit the app you're testing, you just shake your iPhone or iPad to return to the main apps list.
Of course, with TapPublisher you can edit and modify your app as many times as you like and test it in TapPlayer. You can improve it, add new modules, test different layouts, different colours.
Once you're satisfied, you can publish your app on the AppStore. The Publish button will let you perform this operation. For more information about this operation, you should read this page Publish your app on the AppStore as there are several options and enter some information before arriving on the AppStore.]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FTapPublisher%2B2%2Bis%2Bfinally%2Bavailable%2F742015-11-04T19:00:16+01:00 Hello,
TapPublisher 2 is finally available for download with tons of new features and improvements.
For this second version, we reviewed and improved many points. We took into account your feedback in order to give you the best experience possible and to allow you to create mobile apps even richer.
TapPublisher biggest new feature is certainly TapCommerce, our new mobile ecommerce platform that contains everything you need to start selling and grow your business. Your customers can browse your products, add them to their cart and pay securely. If you own a food truck, a restaurant or sell jewellery you create, this is a feature you'll love.
You will also discover new modules such as "Catalog", the perfect tool to present your lists, products, recipes ... or why not an encyclopedia! The module "Share & Rate" will allow your users to easily share your app and rate it on the AppStore.
Regarding the previous modules, we reworked them and specialised them by service. For example, the Video module that managed Dailymotion, Vimeo and YouTube has disappeared and has been replaced by three independent modules for each service. So you will now find a module for Dailymotion, a module Vimeo and a module for YouTube. Ditto for Photos is replaced by Instagram, 500px and Flickr.
When you create a new app, you now have a choice of templates. A template is a pre-configured app, ready for use. You can of course, modify, add and remove modules or change its design.
The user interface has been completely reworked by our team: it's now in a flat design style, much more intuitive, clear and modern. The code has been optimized to make it as more fluid and responsive.
TapPublisher 2 is also an opportunity to integrate analytics services such as Flurry and Google Analytics, allowing you to monitor and control the statistics of your app.
Feel free to test it, torture it and send us your feedback and suggestions. If you have any questions or problems, you can also contact our online support.

To add this functionality to your app, you simply have to add the module corresponding to the service and configure it.
To configure these three modules all you need is the account name you want to use.
On Flickr, you can choose Photo Sets or Photostream. The Photo Stream feature displays a photo stream (all your pictures one after another) while Photo Sets displays them grouped by albums (sets). You can also choose between two different display formats: in list or in block.
And that's it!
]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FHow%2Bto%2Bconfigure%2Bthe%2Bvideo%2Bmodules%2B%253A%2BDailymotion%252C%2BVimeo%2Band%2BYouTube%2F602015-07-15T12:54:10+02:00 In the first version of TapPublisher, various video services were combined into one "Videos" module. In TapPublisher 2, we decided to dedicate a module for each service: YouTube, Dailymotion and Vimeo, to make use of our clearer editor.
For these three sites, the account name is in the URL, eg
https://www.youtube.com/user/Applehttp://www.dailymotion.com/Universal_Pictures_France or
https://vimeo.com/staff
You can configure these three modules the same way, you just need to type the account name you want to use for the module. After configuring the module, it’s up to you to choose between three different display formats and add a header or not.
]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FHow%2Bto%2Bconfigure%2Bthe%2BRSS%2Bmodule%2F582015-07-07T16:10:46+02:00 To go with the beta of TapPublisher 2, we will explain the operation of various modules, until the release of the final version in September. Today, let's talk about the RSS feed!
As you may have noticed, a dedicated module as RSS has appeared in the new version of TapPublisher. Previously grouped with others under the "News" module, it is now independent.
Simply put, the RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a data description format for son disseminate information. This flow allows you to stream, via compatible software, the entire contents of a blog, automatically and without the user having to go on your site.
If you have the RSS feed of your site, you just have to put it in the TapPublisher RSS module to configure it. You can also choose the format of display from four different and include a header that will display your latest articles.
To find the address of your RSS feed, it's pretty simple. Just go on your site.
This one has perhaps an icon leading directly to the RSS feed. If this is the case, grab the URL of this icon by clicking it.
If you use Google Chrome, right click and select "Carry out inspection of the element." Press Apple + F in the Inspector which just opened, type "rss" and you will find a link for your RSS feed.
If you use Safari, you must enable the "development" option. To do this, go to the "Advanced" tab in Safari’s Preferences. Check the last box "Show Develop menu." You can now display the Web Inspector, which is in the "development" menu of Safari. Press Apple + F in the Inspector which juts opened, type "rss" and you will find a link for your RSS feed.
If you have a Blogger website, your general RSS feed is here http://exemple.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss and your labels RSS feed here http://exemple.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss/-/NameOfTheLabel
If your site does not have a RSS feed or you do not know how to access it, check with your blog platform to find the address of that stream.
Once you have the RSS feed of your site, you just have to write it in the TapPublisher RSS module to configure it. You can also choose the format of display from four different types, and include a header that will display your latest articles.
]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FTapPublisher%2B2%2Bis%2Bcoming%2521%2F552015-07-02T15:08:32+02:00 TapPublisher 2 is coming! The first beta of our mobile apps creator with no coding skills is now available for download.
For this second version, we reviewed and improved many points. We took into account your feedback in order to give you the best experience possible and to allow you to create mobile apps even richer.
The user interface has been completely reworked by our team: it is now in a flat design style, much more intuitive, clear and modern.
The interface is composed of 3 distinct parts:
the App section that allows you to manage your modules, the type of menu and the global parameters of your app.
the Inspector section that allows you to configure and customize each module, to choose the layout and select the colors you like.
the Preview section which shows you an accurate rendering of what you get on your iPhone.
The modules have also been improved. We separated photos, videos and news modules into dedicated specific services. You will find, among others, 500px, Instagram, Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo, WordPress or the RSS, each in a separate module.
You will also discover new modules such as "Catalog", the perfect tool to present your lists, products, recipes ... or why not an encyclopedia! The module "About" will allow your users to easily share your app and rate it on the AppStore.
Other modules have been improved, such as "Contact", which now allows you to customize a page with many informations (mail, phone, location ...) and "Info" where you can enter the information you want.
Over the different beta versions, new modules will appear like Calendar, Events, Prestashop or Meetup.
Module’s configuration is also much easier and you have more settings and customization options in TapPublisher 2. This is the case for the modules, but also for the menus.
Now you can customize every part of the menu: footer, header, icons, colors ... it's up to you to create an app that you like.
TapPublisher 2 is also an opportunity to introduce the analytics services Flurry and Google Analytics, allowing you to monitor and control the statistics of your application.
To avoid files deletion, all the files required for a project ( images, icons, settings ) are now grouped in a file "example.bundle". A bundle is a special folder that is seen by the Finder as a file and not as a folder. You can import your old project with the "Import TapPublisher 1.x project" from the File menu to turn it into a TapPublisher 2 project.
Regarding TapPlayer, our testing app for iPhone, it obviously works with apps created via TapPublisher 2 beta, including with the new modules About and Catalog.
You can now download the first beta of TapPublisher 2 on our website. It will be followed by several other betas (every 10 days) before the release of the final version in September. This beta is fully functional and you can use it for submit iPhone apps.
Feel free to test it, torture it and send us your feedback and suggestions.
You can download TapPublisher 2 beta 1 here and don't forget you need an account on our website to synchronise and test your app with TapPlayer.]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FMore%2Bthan%2B100%2Bbillion%2Bapps%2Bdownloaded%2Bon%2Bthe%2BAppStore%2F542015-06-18T14:24:43+02:00 Next month, the App Store will celebrate its 7 years. It’s the opportunity for us to revisit some key figures and take stock of its seven years of existence via an infographic. Introduced with the iPhone 3G, the App Store has created a whole new market and an ecosystem that does not yet exist.
At WWDC, Apple also presented a video entitled "The App Effect", which reminds us of the impact of apps in our daily lives and in our society.
“ This is bigger than any of us imagined “ Phil Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple
]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FWWDC%2B2015%2F522015-06-15T11:32:20+02:00 Last week took place the Apple WWDC, an important moment for the firm. Like every year, this is an opportunity to revisit the latest market trends and uncover some new things to developers and media in the room.
OS X El Capitan
Sucessor of Yosemite, El Capitan is the 10.11 version of the OS dedicated to Macs. Its name comes from a rock formation located in the heart of... Yosemite Valley. This is an update improving OS X on three main points.
Window Management
Surely inspired by what is already on Windows 8, Apple took over this function by expanding it. Now you can arrange two windows side by side, resize them, put them in full screen directly from the Mission Control ... Many news coming from that side.
Spotlight
The search function dedicated to Macs also has several new features and becomes smarter. If you request information in your own words in the form of a sentence ("Show me the pictures of July") Spotlight will search it for you. It’s the same things for the mails ("John mails I've never read), documents and many other things to come.
Optimised Apps
Apps installed by default by Apple are also entitled to their share of novelties. Safari allows you to see more easily from which tab the music comes and Mail incorporate trackpad gestures.
Announced last year for iOS, "Metal" now enters on Mac. Metal is a new API that allows apps to be faster and graphics of the games to be improved.
As for performance, Craig Federighi promised us a much faster OS. Opening an app will be up to 1.4 times faster, the app switch will be twice as fast, and opening a PDF 4x faster.
El Capitan OS X will be available this fall.
iOS 9
Like OS X, iOS 9 is an upgrade focusing on improving the OS’ performances and stability.
As with Spotlight, Siri will now be more intelligent and able to understand the context of what you ask. A bit like the function On Tap on Google Now ...
The search screen has been completely redesigned. It will now offer you your favorite contacts and apps you use most often. And most important, the Search API is now open to developers! So you can find search results corresponding to content that comes directly from your applications.
The Notes and Maps applications have also been reworked. For the first, public transportation was added and for the second, it is now possible to make lists or integrate directly links and photos.
But the updated iOS brings more to the iPad than to the iPhone. The iPad now includes split-screen ( possibility to put two applications side by side and use them simultaneously ) and even the "picture in picture video". Understand that you can now watch a video over another application.
The iPad's keyboard had changed and now incorporates gestures on the trackpad as the Mac, in addition to new shortcuts.
Apple pay can now be integrated directly into the apps for you to pay much more easily.
On the programming side, Swift, the new programming language announced by Apple last year is now in version 2. Simpler and more secure than Objective-C, it will go open source by the end of the year.
iOS 9 will be available this fall on the same devices than iOS 8.
watchOS
6 weeks after the launch of the watch, watchOS is already in version 2.
This new version allows you, among other things, to change the wallpaper of the watch with your photos, "time travel" by showing you what the weather was 30 minutes ago or what the weather will be in 30 minutes, and pass audio FaceTime calls.
Apple also thought about developers: they finally can create native applications for the Apple Watch (something hitherto impossible), and "complications", custom screens to deliver more informations (score of a match, news ... ).
watchOS 2 will be available this fall.
Apple Music
Direct competitor of Spotify, Apple launches its music streaming service. Simply called Apple Music and introduced by rapper Drake, it will be available at the end of June and will cost 9.90$ per month.
The innovations presented by Apple at the conference will be included in a future release of TapPublisher, this is why we pay a special attention to this event.

It is on the eve of the WWDC '15 edition that we wanted to make a point on iOS and the various iPhone models. And for that, nothing better than a infographics.
Currently, iOS 7 and 8, the lastest two versions of Apple's mobile OS are installed on 98% of iPhone. Therefore TapPublisher uses only native API for iOS 7 and 8, which allows you to make the most of flat design. Meanwhile iOS 9 ...

But are you certain you have complied with all the recommendations of Apple and that your app will be validated?
Fortunately, Apple offers a comprehensive guide containing what is accepted or not on the App Store with some tips to get you started started . In addition, there’s a list of the main reasons why an app is rejected, which is regularly updated.
The main reason for the rejection of an application is therefore ... the lack of information on the application in iTunes Connect. Be sure to complete all fields available when you submit an application, including the one on advertising. If your application uses the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), mention it.
Also, do not provide an application which crashes, contains bugs, in which there are empty text boxes or in which there are missing links or images, it will certainly be rejected. Do not mention any other mobile platform in your application (eg, Android, Windows Phone).
Apple is also very vigilant about the overall quality of the application, on its ease of use and ergonomics.
Make sure that the description and screenshots of the application are consistent with your application and describes what it really is. If you promise functionality that does not ensure it will not be accepted.
Finally, your application should provide real added value compared to your content that already exists. For example, it should not simply be web content: this content must be adapted to the application format, and to the iPhone or iPad format.
In any case, do not hesitate to test it and to get tested until you are sure it works perfectly.
The application generated by TapPublisher fully respects the rules of the App Store but you are responsible for the content thereof. When you build your application with TapPublisher, we recommend using at least 4 modules (News, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, if you have a blog) to be sure your application is accepted on the App Store.]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FGoogle%2BI%252FO%2B2015%2F462015-05-29T18:44:06+02:00 Yesterday took place the opening keynote of Google I / O 2015 event for developers in the premises of Mountain View. It is traditionally at this conference that Google unveils projects for months or even years to come. No new product had been announced this time, but a lot of improvements to existing OS (Android and Android Wear), as well as some details on a new OS, for the connected home.
Android M
After major overhaul of the Android design with Lollipop announced last year, Google unveiled its new version of Android, simply called Android M for now. You can also download the Developer Preview for Nexus 6, 5, 9 and Player here (tag: http://developer.android.com/preview/download.html). It will be out this fall, and here are some of the main new features:
App permissions
No need to accept any access to your device when you download an application! You can give the permission only to features you want, and change them whenever you want. No more misuse of the camera or access to your location, it's up to you.
Web Experience
Today there are two ways to access the content of a link from an application: either the application has an in-app browser, allowing you to live a continuous experience but in which you can’t enjoy the features of your browser, or you need to open your browser, cutting the experience.
Google decided to remedy this by offering a version of Chrome built directly into applications, enabling developers to customize their own version of Chrome and smoother transition between the application and the browser.
App Links
Echoing the same idea as the Web Experience, App Links allows the user to easily switch from one application to another without displaying the unpleasant dialog box that prompts the user to open the link with their browser or with the dedicated application. Android M defaults to the dedicated application if the link is available on it, or to the browser if the link is not available on the application.
Mobile Payments
After several months of waiting, Google has finally officiallized Android Pay. In direct competition with Apple Pay, it took all that has already brought success to Apple Pay: contactless payment via NFC, confirmation by fingerprint. For now, this service is only available in the United States.
Fingerprint Support
The fingerprint precisely. Android M incorporates native fingerprint reader, compatible with all devices with a fingerprint sensor. Android smartphones to offer a fingerprint reader are still rare at the moment, but you can find several models, including Samsung and Motorola ones.
Power & Charging
During the conference, Google also introduced two new products for the management of the battery and charging devices. Doze can detect, via the accelerometer, if the device is used or not, in order to reduce the synchronization frequency, and improve autonomy. Specifically, if you leave your tablet or smartphone for two hours on a table, it will "sleep."
The USB Type-C, which is found on late-model Chromebook and MacBook will now be supported by Android to divide by three or four the time of charging devices. Currently, very few smartphones are equipped with USB Type-C but Google promises that many new models will soon arrive.
Google Now
Integrated directly into Android M, the new version of Google Now will accompany you even further. With a new tool "Now On Tap" Android's assistant will give you information about any content on the screen without you having to launch a search. Simply by pressing the "Home" button, and you'll be served.
Android Wear
No big news of Android Wear hand, if it is a reminder of the latest features available via the latest update. So we find the always-on mode, new gestures, recognition of emojis launcher and reworked launcher.
Internet of Things
As rumor announced, Google unveiled its OS dedicated to the Internet of Things. Called Brillo, he resumed the Android underpinnings and keeps only what is necessary to be as light as possible. Dedicated to connected objects, it will be accompanied by Weave, a language that will allow Brillo to communicate with all your other devices.
Developers
The developers have obviously not been forgotten in this year's Google I/O. The new version of Android Studio now allows to develop in C / C ++.
For iOS, Google now incorporates Cocoapods, which allows easier integration of Google services in iOS applications.
And if you are interested in the development of applications on Android, Google has published on Udacity, a MOOC website, complete courses on Android development. Theses courses will take you of 6 to 9 months for a cost of 200$ per month.
Virtual Reality
Concluding his keynote, Google presented a new version of its Cardboard, compatible with devices of 6 inches and with a dedicated iOS SDK. We also were treated to Google Expeditions, allowing entire classes to live through the same experience and Cardboard Jump, a "belt" of 16 GoPro for filming at 360 °.
The Android version of TapPublisher will be available soon, so we pay special attention to this OS. All features in Android M such as Android Pay will obviously be integrated into TapPublisher for Android.]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FTapPublisher%2B1.7%2Bnow%2Bsupports%2BiOS%2B8%252C%2BiPhone%2B6%2Band%2BiPhone%2B6%2BPlus%2F422014-11-12T12:04:34+01:00 If you haven't done it yet, you should download TapPublisher 1.7 and TapPlayer 1.7.
The biggest new feature is certainly native support for iPhone 6, 6 Plus and iOS 8. You'll also find a lot of improvement in the UI, in app customisation and in different modules such News, Video, Twitter and QuickLinks.
Thank to your feedback, the publish process on the AppStore has also been enhanced and we'll continue to work hard on it.
Download this new version, play with it, and feel free to send us some feedback.
]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FDownload%2BTapPublisher%2B1.6%2F382014-09-16T12:29:46+02:00 Good news, TapPublisher 1.6 is now available. In this release, you’ll find 2 big new features and a lot of small improvements and bug fixes, both in the editor and in the player.
On the editor side, you’ll see that the publish process has been improved in lot. You can edit all the informations related to your app, the version, the description in different languages from TapPublisher; you don’t need anymore to do it from the web site. All these informations are needed to submit your app to the AppStore.
Next big addition to TapPublisher 1.6 is support for Instagram. This was a huge request from our customers. Currently, we do support only photos; videos are coming soon.
As usual, we continued to work on the user interface and creative process in order to have a simpler and easier to use editor.
We also made some small improvements in the different modules and data managers. For example, in the Button menu, you can add a margin to a button. In the Flickr module, we rewrote a lot of code to have a better cache management.
We hope you’ll like this new release and make great apps.
With the release of iOS 8 and the iPhone 6 this week, I think we’ll have more good news for you very soon.

In july, 90 percent of devices connected to the App Store are running iOS 7, according to new numbers posted on Apple's App Store developer support page.
The new milestone, which comes 10 months after the operating system's original release, is a three percent increase from installation numbers of 87 percent back in April.
As adoption of iOS 7 has climbed, iOS 6 installation rates have dropped slightly, going from 11 percent in April to 9 percent on July 13. Earlier operating systems continue to run on two percent of devices.
Every new release of iOS brings new technologies and APIs to improve and enhance apps. Supporting the latest version of iOS allows us to bring more functionalities and have faster apps. iOS 7 brought a whole new design to iOS apps, completely different what you can saw on iOS 6. iOS 8 will continue this way.
As you know, TapPublisher still supports both iOS 6 and iOS 7. With the coming release of iOS 8, we'll probably drop support for iOS 6 when it'll go below 5% of installation rate.

So, what will you find in this release?
First all of all, you can now publish your app on the AppStore. Once your app is ready, just push the Publish red button, and we'll do the rest. Currently, only the free plan is available.

Apple only sometimes streams live video of its special events, and never announces its intent to do so this far in advance, so this is an interesting development.
Apple doesn’t say what’s going to be on the docket at the show, but it does say that it’ll be making “exciting announcements.”. We can imagine Apple will announce and preview Mac OS X 10.10 and iOS 8 and some hardware upgrade, as well.
Rumors suggest we could see news from Apple regarding health tracking and home automation platforms.
Live streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.

So, what's new in TapPublisher 1.3 ? A lot of stuff.
As you can see, we improved the UI to be lighter, more efficient and more intuitive.
The first big news is having the possibility to add several instances of a module; for example, if you have several RSS feeds or multiple photos or videos accounts. We also have 2 news modules : Contact and Catalog.
One big request from our users was the possibility to choose between different layouts and it's now possible in the News, Video and Twitter modules. We'll expand this feature to other modules and add more layouts in the next releases.
As usual, there are a lot of improvements in the some modules (News, Wordpress, Photos Sets, Twitter, SideBar Menu) and, of course, a lot of bug fixes.
This release is still iPhone only, but next release will also build native apps for iPad.

Almost three billion apps were downloaded during the final month of the year, making it the most successful month in App Store history.
Apple also announced that it has now paid over $15 billion to App Store developers.
“We’d like to thank our customers for making 2013 the best year ever for the App Store,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, in the company’s press release. “The lineup of apps for the holiday season was astonishing and we look forward to seeing what developers create in 2014.”
The App Store is now available in 155 countries worldwide, serving more than one million titles across 24 categories — 500,000 of which are native iPad apps.

But there’s a contradiction: you just mention the creation of an app and a lot of people are immediately sceptical either because they think it’s too expensive or because they have no idea how to even start.
So how much do you really need to take from your checkbook when creating an app?
It depends on many different factors related to design, coding, testing, infrastructure. Questions you need to ask: how much content do you have, do you want a simple app displaying basic information or with more complex functionnality, how much control do you want to have over the whole process, do you opt for the data housed “native” (built into the app) or would you rather have it “dynamic” (built into an online web services). The more complicated it is, the more it will cost. An average app developer would charge around $800 per day ($100 per hour). According to a recent poll conducted in 2010 by TechCrunch, the average total development cost amounts to $6,453. If we break the costs into two categories: the simple and complex apps, the development costs for the first should range from $3000 to $8000; and for the second it could easily start at $50,000, and go up to $150,000. An app development company found the prefect way to be more accurate. Check their app quote calculator and discover how much it would cost you to create one

]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FWhy%2Bmobile%2Bapps%2Bare%2Bso%2Bpopular%253F%2F262013-12-04T17:34:07+01:00 As the number of smartphone owners grow, so does the popularity of mobile apps. We live in a fast-paced world where speed is key in every single thing we do. Whether good or bad (that’s another long debate), this makes us crave for any technology which can help us speed up on all levels, personal and professional. That’s where mobile apps come in. Their popularity is rising both among users and business owners. How is that so? And how can you make yours popular?
Practical, efficient, fun ... and other reasons for its popularity
Our society demands speed in our every step. No waiting, no lingering. It all has to come at once. When it comes to quickly accessing data, mobile apps are the perfect choice. And you can do that without Internet connection which makes it even more appealing for “on the go” users. Plus, mobile apps are entertaining, user-friendly, and if not free, their cost is never expensive.
But those aren’t the only reasons why people turn to apps so easily. Apart from allowing users to interact with the world, mobile apps can be used for advertising. Businesses have taken advantage of the rise of the number of downloaded apps. Today, mobile apps are getting more and more attention from sponsors, which means more free apps will also appear.
So if mobile apps make life easier, some get more success than others. Let’s discover why.
To get popular: keep it simple, engaging and be ready for changes (adaptable)
How an app looks and feels is essential to its success. Users’ first impression on your app will seal its destiny. So it has to look great, feel intuitive, and the navigation should be fluid. Forget these requirements and you can be sure the user will not come a second time. So focus on your content, on displaying it as best as possible. For that, bear in mind that your app is being used on a device with a small touchscreen. Display the content accordingly and don’t confuse your user with too many design elements. Organize your patchwork of features so they’re easy to find and access. And constantly put yourself in your users’ shoes. Adapting to their needs is one important key to succeed and maintain success. You want to offer an app where the user will hang its hat? Well then, release updates on a regular basis to keep pace with your users’ evolving desires. What keeps users coming back is when you improve your app regularly and notify users of additional (appealing) content through notifications.
Last but not least, learn from others! Many success stories can be picked such as Shazam, Angry Birds, Tweetbot, Google Maps, ... to name only a few. They’re your best teachers and have one thing in common, that one precious ingredient to keep in your recipe from the start: being good listeners.
Your users’ feedback is your best compass for success.
The number of mobile application downloads will keep on rising in the future. So if you’re not yet into the business, get in, learn from the best and get yourself a stage for a popular app.
]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FWhy%2Bnative%2Bis%2Bthe%2Bbest%2Bway%2Bto%2Bgo%2Bversus%2Bhtml5%2Bmobile%2Bapps%2F252013-11-22T13:09:13+01:00 Bloggers and customers have been debating the question for a while now, and some of them still are: is it better to go with html5 mobile apps or native apps? An html5 app is housed on the web and runs inside a mobile browser whereas a native app is built specifically for Apple devices or Google’s Android operating system.
It’s our turn to look at it objectively to help you make up your mind once and for all!
Native wins over html5 which faces challenges in most areas
“Faster”, “Easier to browse”... These are few things you’ll hear from native app lovers when mentioning them.
Indeed, native wins in terms of performance and rich-user experience: loading and rendering is definitely faster. Plus, features like VR, NFC and passport aren’t available in html.
What’s more, native apps are better for monetization as it’s easier to get a larger audience by using the App Store and Google Play. And from a security perspective, native also clearly wins.
What could be in html’s favor are: the advantage of working across all mobile operating systems, and the development costs, less important versus the native. It’s also easier to find html developers as opposed to Objective-C experts who furthermore cost more to hire. Plus, html5 brings the most up-to-date experience as it can instantly be updated and so address problems more regularly.
Given the reasons above, native apps win! Add to that the lower developer interest in building on html 5 and greater number of native apps out, we definitely have to accept the superiority of the latter over its opponent. But then, let’s not forget each publisher will consider the one or the other according to their content, needs, resources and monetization strategy. To get full details on the differences between the two in terms of features, take a look at this article’s chart (http://blog.conduit.com/mobile/2013/07/31/the-future-of-mobile-html5-vs-native-apps/).
Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter went native. What about you?
In 2012, Facebook ditched the mobile web, releasing a totally rebuilt native version of its app for iPhone and iPad. Why? When Facebook decided to abandon html5 it was mostly looking for speed improvement. What are the native version’s benefits? The app opens faster, scrolling through the news feed is smoother and photos upload more swiftly.
LinkedIn also went from mobile web-based apps to fully native but the company stated they didn’t dropped it because of a performance problem. They did it for three reasons: first because the app was running out of memory as more people were spending more time on the app. Secondly to get the animations, spinners and everything flow smoother. And thirdly because developers develop tools for native and not that much for html5.
As for Twitter, it never made the shift as it had fully native apps from the start.
Given the evidence, don’t hesitate anymore: embrace native and start with TapPublisher.

It’s good to think about what new business opportunities will emerge when your customers can communicate with you anytime, anywhere. Yet, in this digital era, a lot of people consider becoming app makers merely because “everyone else is doing it”. Well there’s a lot more to it than just following a trend. Apps can work for you in exactly the same way as your website or other digital communication.
Don’t get trapped in that one question: “How do I earn money from my app?” Rather think of it in terms of: “What do I gain from my app?”
An app business is a business opportunity. Among the many apps’ perks, here are some of the vital ones:
- Showcasing your products & services
- Reaching new on-the-go customers
- Providing information quicker, enhancing users’ experience
- Pushing notifications
- Increasing customers’ loyalty
- Improving brand recognition
- Contributing positive PR
- Helping you go viral
How? The key is the below preparatory work
Your app should start swiftly, be easy to use, quick to download and look great. Be sure to anticipate the below to get it right:
- Content: without it, the app couldn’t exist. It’s the main reason people choose to download it. Make sure your content is interesting and appealing.
- Features: focus on the main features and on making the few you have as good as they can possibly be. A lot of app-makers want to include tons of innovative and special features, and end up with only a few actually working well.
- Design: design for touch! People use the app for less than a minute so it should feel and be simple. And given the small screen of the mobile, think of designing according to screen size.
- Programming: writing code can be a complex, detailed process. So you either have a very good developer who takes care of the technical part or you opt for a do-it-yourself service like TapPublisher where no programming skills are required.
- Testing: a well tested app is an app that works well! Don’t underestimate this stage.
- Keeping up with the trends: your app is never finished! Even when you’ve created it, Your app should start swiftly, be easy to use, quick to download and look great. Be sure to anticipate the below to get it right:
you can’t just simply forget about it. You need to maintain and update it to continuously enhance your users’ experience, and look for ideas and inspiration. For instance, adapting to the new iOS 7 featuring a flat design. Remember: an app is a work in progress!
Hands on the art of marketing an app
Think beyond the creation of your app. Make a plan as to how to market it in order to make it visible to the world. Understand your target users, your influencers as well as your competitors as well as the market share that’s already taken. From there, strive to stand out in this market by:
- Promoting your app through PR as a way to make yourself known
- Using social media sites, namely Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin or YouTube
- Advertising, which is about building your brand but also requires financial resources you’d have to find

Let’s walk through these 2 new iPads.
The iPad Air : lightness and speed define it
Its name says it all: it looks like iPad 4 but it is much finer (20% finer than the old iPads), much lighter than the iPad 4 (460 gr vs 600 gr), and much quicker.
Equiped with an A7 processor similar to that of iPhone 5S, the iPad Air promises to provide higher performance: a 10-hour operating battery, quicker display (applications open twice as quickly) and swifter Wifi access. Add to that a built-in dual microphone and an improved photo sensor with HD video quality. The available colours are silver, white, space grey or black.
The iPad mini Retina display: a high definition screen for smoother reading
A “small wonder. The difference has never been clearer”. This is how Apple presents its iPad mini 2 on its website. There is a significant rise in quality and technology. Indeed the new iPad mini finally has a Retina screen which gives a much better display in quality, of videos and games. It can be used as an ebook reader, to look through high resolution pictures and to touch up images in detail.
Supporting iPad Air & iPad mini Retina display is on TapPublisher’s agenda. So we’ll keep you up-to-date when it happens :)]]>https://tappublisher.com/blog%2FiOS%2B7%2Bexperiences%2Bits%2Bfastest%2Badoption%2Brate%2Ba%2Bweek%2Bafter%2Blaunch%2F192013-10-11T17:09:11+02:00 According to Mixpanel and other tracking services, iOS 7 adoption rate passes 70% two weeks after being launched. This upgrade marks a significant step for Apple, as iOS7 was adopted at a much faster pace than iOS 6.
A much higher rate than previous releases new look and feel of iOS 7
Clearly the speed with which people adopted the new operating system is extremely good news for Apple. iOS 7 mostly sports a new look and feel. The operating system was totally redesigned to get a fresher and modern visual face: new colors and a flatter design. Indeed what was thick got replaced with thin lines, buttons became simple texts. What was complex turns out now to be more simple.
Apple definitely tried to set up a vocabulary of design that goes hand in hand with the very essence of what iOS is.
Its resources still strike us all, so let’s follow what’s next. Sure, it still has plenty of good surprises on its agenda...

TapPublisher made visual updates to take full advantage of iOS 7’s redesign, mostly guaranteeing compatibility. Further to the iOS 7’s changes, we ensured that nothing was broken in our application (content, feature,...) thereby providing an even fresher mobile experience.
What’s your opinion on our iOS 7-optimized app? It’s always a work in progress so let us know your likes & dislikes.

Mobile commerce is becoming the main channel to generate sales online and engage more clients. Going mobile is about connecting with the majority of your customers and growing your profits.
What is TapPublisher?
TapPublisher is a service still in beta, offering an easy-to-use Mac OS app builder to create and develop native iPhone and iPad world-class apps.
How does it work?
It’s a 3-step process: first you create, then you test and finally you can publish your application on the App Store. At the moment, only the first two steps can be completed. Publishing will be possible in the next version, out by the end of the year.
1. Create
Thanks to a powerful drag-and-drop builder tool, TapPublisher allows for any tech novice to create native apps simply within minutes. Users select the modules needed from a set of extensive modules (news, photos, videos, music...), and link them to external sources such as Wordpress, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Spotify or Prestashop. The app can then be designed in their own unique style. Every single element of the interface is customizable: menu, navigation bar, wallpapers, colors, elements, icons and other.
2. Test
Before publishing the app, it can be previewed and tested thanks to TapPlayer, the free companion application designed specially to test out apps. Previews behave exactly like the final published version.
3. Publish (not possible in this version but in the soon-to-come one)
Once the app is ready to go public, users can choose between publishing it themselves or leaving that task to TapPublisher, if they don’t have an Apple developer account or simply if they don’t want to be bothered with the technical part.
Why choose TapPublisher over other services?
TapPublisher uses 100% native iOS API and Objective-C to create high quality, responsive, and fluid apps, providing users with an intuitive building experience. Everyone can move quickly from concept to final product, without any programming know-how. So it really comes down to this: using TapPublisher is a fast, fluid and free way to engage more customers and improve profitability.
Will there ever be a version for Android? And when?
Launching a Mac OS app builder is just the first item on TapPublisher’s agenda. We definitely intend to release an Android version, due beginning of 2014.
